Once Executor was defeated, Knuckles saw his chance.

Knuckles: This... ENDS... NOW!!!

He punched the shit out of Sonic.exe, causing his head to fly right off with one last blow. Knuckles was shocked.

Knuckles: W-what have I done?! Did I just kill Sonic?! I can't believe my anger made me do that!

But then he heard a voice from behind him...

Sonic.exe: What a funny joke.

Knuckles turned around in horror to see Exe alive.

Sonic.exe: Obviously you didn't kill me, you just killed a clone of me. And that thing just had the one percent of my power.

Knuckles braced himself, but Sonic.exe looked rather impressed.

Sonic.exe: But I have to admit... that was a really good show. So I will spare you for now. Better keep things interesting, for your own good.

And with that he flew away.

Knuckles: I have to get out of here, I can't defeat him right now.

And with that he escaped, with Tails very much in his thoughts.
