A stencil painting I did of Amanda Palmer, based on an amazing photo by Tracy Graham [link]It's roughly 60 x 90 cm. This was pretty much just an experiment in stenciling using colour and acrylic paint with a paint brush... as opposed to greyscale spray paint. It's probably only about 80% stencil and 20% "freehand", with 13 layers (not including the eyes).

Fucking hell! How am I only just seeing this now. This is amazing! I love the flowers..and the eyes!! You did the eyes freehand? Why aren't you experimenting with just regular painting more? I mean apart from the whole full time job thing....

It's taken me nearly a month to reply... how sad. Thank you! Yeah I did the eyes freehand, they actually look pretty crap up close haha. I'd finished everything else and really couldn't muster up much more motivation to do the eyes properly so I kinda just kept mixing new colours and doing random brush strokes until they looked somewhat realistic. I keep meaning to experiment with other types of painting but every time I try, I can't choose a picture and/or convince myself that I don't have the talent and it'd look better stenciled.
