I love the texture and definitely the bold use of color with soft swirls and lines here. So beautiful.
When I first saw this character, I thought along the lines of being more feminine. For some reason, the name Alcena came to mind, or variations such as Alsinia, Alcina, etc. I think perhaps because of the wings, which remind me of angels, and many angels have names that start with an "A." But of course, this character doesn't have to be an angel. And even if he/she were, I don't think he/she would be a typical angel.
Anyway, that's what I envision when I look at this lovely painting. Wonderful job as always, Becky!

Thanks so much, I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback! Your ideas sound so much better than mine. I'm pretty bad with coming up with character names and back stories....I kind of like the idea of an 'A' name now, but I'm not sure! Either way, thank you for the good suggestions.

Thanks so much. I don't have a story for the character, actually. It was one of those concepts that I started working on and played with for awhile and decided it was really fun to work on. I'm very open to ideas and interpretations! I'm sure you could come up with something better than me.
