A piece of fanart based on my Champion Iris battle in Pokemon Black 2 last night, which turned out to be a stand-out moment for my dear Glowby (my Lanturn that I transferred into Gen 5 from my previous SoulSilver team).

Iris led with Hydreigon. I led with Glowby. My intention was to nuke Hydreigon's accuracy with Flash, then switch to my Flygon (Snapdragon) and have her take it out with STAB Dragon Claw. Unfortunately, despite 5 Flash uses, Hydreigon still hit Snapdragon on the switch-in and KO'd her in one shot. Glowby came back in and finished it with Ice Beam instead. Later, after my Serperior (Vyne) took out Aggron, it was Druddigon time. Glowby outsped and hit with a strong Ice Beam, taking out about half of its health. Druddigon survived with a tiny sliver of health and hit Glowby down to just 4 HP - but he survived, and KO'd it with another Ice Beam.

He needed to heal, so I switched to my Absol (Omen) to brute force the upcoming Haxorus - but Absol got outsped and OHKO'd. Then came my Zebstrika (Silver), who landed a Thunder Wave - but got OHKO'd by Earthquake. Haxorus started setting up Dragon Dance, never failing to act despite being paralysed, and tore through every remaining team member (props to my Scolipede, Stormer, who got a couple of hits in before she too got taken down). Eventually, only Glowby remained. One Lanturn VS 3 of the champion's Pokemon. Did he give up?

No.

Glowby outsped and KO'd the paralysed Haxorus (despite its stacked Dragon Dances) with Ice Beam, absorbed an attempted Thunderbolt and avoided Sing to KO Lapras soon after, and after a tense battle with Archeops (which saw Glowby flinched by Rock Slide at one point)... finally beat them all. Glowby was responsible for taking out 5 of Champion Iris's Pokemon, 3 of which (the 3 pictured) he took out while being the only team member left standing.

Glowby, you little legend. You did me proud.
