Description
Vo is an original character I'm working on Fighting game Project dubbed "Guts and Glory". I didn't start this project, I'm a late comer. She is still in the early design stages, but I thought I'd post her to see what people think. Here is a link to a few other combatants in the roster. theamericandream.deviantart.co…It is not a Sci Fi based game, we have characters of all kinds.
Not much on Vo's story has been officially decided. But, Vo isn't a woman you want to cross. She once worked for a woman of cruel intentions as a scientist, developing technology and weaponry for her. However, she wasn't working fast enough to please her master. To hasten her progress, her master infused a formula that would cause her to slowly, but surely gain weight. The intent was to increase her determination to find a way around the physical barriers of immense body weight.
But this only caused Vo's temper to turn on her former leader. She has since decided to claim war against her old faction, and now works on her own. Still a scientist, she looks for a cure to her condition, while her new body suit slows the process. She may no longer be in league with the enemy, but Vo isn't exactly one to harbor friends either.
Artist's Note: This character is still in development, and I am interested in comments of what others think of her design. I'd prefer them to be nice, but please let me know what you think of her. Thanks for viewing!
Also, keep in mind, this character isn't designed with LOADS of logic, mostly fan service. So, I'm aware her outfit doesn't make that much sense.

This drawing shows that you are capable of drawing a wide range of characters and styles, and drawing them all well. This is a large shift from the regular characters we see of yours who have more of a real world quality to them (aside from the obvious theme) and yet you made it seem like you had been drawing it all along.
The character design itself is very well done, the body isn't too large and in an odd way actually makes her seem more active, almost like she's battle tested. I don't know if it's the way she's holding herself or just the fact that her attitude shows off that she can trudge forward despite her weight, but her size actually makes her seem tougher because of it. And I think the hair was an excellent design, it was sci-fi in it's size and shape (and also color obviously) but yet it still seemed based enough on reality that it could be a real hair style.
Now the clothing/armor is the main point of interest in this pic in my opinion. You were able to show signs of the classic sci-fi armor, but at the same time you applied a sleek and original design to it that made it your own. The shoulder pads are an excellent example of how you are taking a regular concept from sci-fi armor, but with the colors and shape really made them feel new. Also the boots are fantastic. Their shape is both feminine yet still mechanical to give it that sense of the future, and because of her size it makes it seem like she would have no problem holding up her figure. And as always you put tons of little details in her armor, such as the red strips, the blue lights, and I love the lines in her glove that trace her hand's shape but at the same time creates the symbol for "omega." An excellent choice.
The only thing I would really critique, and its small, is that the part of her armor around her waist, the black strip, could maybe be a little larger and darker. The only reason I'm saying this is because at the angle you have her standing, at first when I saw it I thought it was part of the shadow from her gun. But in all honesty it's probably fine just the way it is because if the shadows hadn't been already building around that point I would have noticed it just fine.
This is an amazing looking character and I'm glad to see you trying new things to fully show off how creative you are. I really look forward to where you will go with her next.

Vo hmm... Vo. Don't be mad at me for saying this, but I hope you don't find an anitdote. Sorry Vo I like the weight gain formula. The suit. I actually think it looks appropiate (and some what nice). She's in a race against time

The shape is lovely, no complaints.
The outfit bugs me slightly in that the black gloves don't quite fit with the rest of it. I'm sure they match with the bottom piece, but since you can see so little of it it comes off awkward.
Still, it's pretty great, that's just my take on it. I'm looking forward to the game.

O_O very nice. Regardless of her "Proportions" the way you drew her and had her colored is awesome.
Her face looks very "sexy/sleek" kind of way. Something like Darkstalkers artwork if you will (Not IN GAME I'm talking like the artwork they do before).
Although I think you could have gone more into detail on the weapon, it looks pretty plain, but because of the creativity, I dont know if that NEEDED more detail.

I really Like her story. it reminds me when i did this little character battle project started by one of my instructors at school. I used my ninja character Kyodai in it except she was implanted with a chip that made her gain weight if she failed any mission which would induce her to become desperate and go on a fighting frenzy just to please the uppers.
As far as design is concerned it's very sci-fi mercenary like. I love it. I like how her fat is trying to squeeze out showing that she is indeed gaining weight. Her outfit is really cool.
I'm tempted to draw her now.

She certainly has potential as a character. Well, I can't offer much imput without knowing more about this project. I can tell it's fat chick sci-fi, but without knowing more...
Meh, a minor dig against the picture is that it's not entirely clear what she's supposed to be beyond "generic space babe." Soldier (going on the image, not the biography) doesn't work due to the lack of armor or shield device. The biography says she's a scientist (which has a lot more leeway in dress code so I'll just can my discussion about a "practical" soldier's outfit,) so would she have some kind of scanner (either a hand held or wrist mounted device) or personal computer on her person for quick notes or readings?

Well since I don't have the money to upgrade to premium to make a critique, I'll place it here. It's not bad at all though:
I really like the design. I think it's really good and it fits well with the feel of a sci fi look. I think the only thing I would add in a revamp would be maybe cover the exposed flesh with a body suit.
Now before people riot hear me out, because I love the exposed parts probably more than most:
For a couple of reasons... one, you always want some form of armor covering your midsection. In a world of guns that is the easiest place to shoot.
And two, in my mind if she designed a suit to slow the process, it seems it might make sense if it were a form fitting mesh inlaid with a grid of some kind to delay the weight gain.
Just a couple of thoughts! Otherwise it looks amazing!

I like the way that the tightness of her boots(?) imply that she's ready for battle and isn't pre-occupied with comfort, and the silver colors compliment her skin tone very well.

Wow, she really came out looking fantastic 8D The shine on her body armor and skin, along with the shadow effects, and the body type itself is fantastic as well. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her, and perhaps more revamps in design too
