First of all, happy FUCKIN' VALENTINE'S DAY, people. Instead of having some mushy sap v-day art ready to post, I spent all day working on this pretty lady. :U
TY, I HAVE A HUGE EPIC CRUSH ON YOUR CHARACTER. CAN SHE BE MY VALENTINE? ;n; Because she is so amazing and wonderful and perfect and I cannot contain my love for such a magnificent- *shot*

This is Lerl ([link] and [link] , and yeah Ty I linked them to SPITE YOU
), one of *Tyshea 's characters from one of her older stories.This is my effort to rekindle an old flame, and give inspiration to an old story that was long since put on the shelf.

And now to attempt to do something for V-day before I run out of time but probably fail miserably. Hey, at the very least, Lerl is an angel.... Cupid. Archery. Angels. Pastels. Rosy cheeks. MAKES SENSE TO ME OK.
*gets pink bow and pink and red quiver full of heart arrows and stalks off to use this day as an excuse to kill people with pointy objects made of LOVE*

Okay a few things.
1. I love this pick epically.
2. I was searching up my name with the word chibi and found one of your arts, and I know you as the queen chic!!! (I watch Ty and now I watch you too)
3. Okay, I'm an aspiring manga tablet and elements user. I usually don't ink though, or try not to because my tablet has issues with the pressure pen... So the inking looks fairly bad usually...
ANYWAYS! I've been trying to just use the sketch and color it with the tablet instead of inking and yada yada yada...
So, here's my epic dilemma. When I upload the picture, it goes onto the background which I can't color, or the colors go over the sketch unless I'm really careful. But if I copy the layer and paste onto a new layer, It's already "filled" with white so I have to erase all the white space before I can actually get to coloring. Is there any way to skip all that and just get the sketch lines?

3. I don't usually ink on the computer either. I can, but my pencil lines are generally just as neat as inking, so I usually don't need to... clean sketches could help you if you have trouble with digital inking.
It sounds like your issue is the sketch (lineart) isn't separated from the white background? So when you try to color it, it goes over both?
One method suggested is you make a new layer over the sketch, and set that new layer to "multiply". That makes it possible to color over the white but the black sketch lines will still show. I'm not entirely sure if that feature is available in elements, but it is part of adobe... so I hope so. It should be in the layers window, in the drop-down that usually says "normal".
I'd tell you my method, but I use a different program other than photoshop or elements to turn it into just lines and no white, so.

It was so much fun balancing the warm colors (her skin, hair, and leather belt) with the soft cool whites and blues and grays. It was a touch challenging, too! Overall I had tons of fun though.
Haha, naw. Aibi and Lerl are from different universes/stories, but it'd be pretty amusing seeing them interact, since Aibi is a little timid pushover and Lerl is a stone-faced punk. xD
