i'd much prefer points but I'm willing to haggle! i don't really need moves and i've taken written payments in the past, but usually people split the writing with art,,, mostly because i charge 12 levels for a 1-traited child, i'd be charging 24 levels for this fusion / morph
this would be fine for art! 24 levels is 4 full bodies shaded with a simple background -- but writing equates to 5000 words total just to hit that
i really don't recommend that; I'm a pretty literate RPer and writer, and i couldn't feasibly manage that on my own
if you're super deadset on writing 24 levels for this child, i'll put her on hold for you and poke you in january if it's not done by then; otherwise, i'd highly recommend doing art to get that level payment done

Well since you would prefer points, I would be willing to consider a mix of points and levels as well.
As for being able to write that... *(shrug)* considering how often I hit the word/character limit just having normal conversations, I don't think the *amount* I need to type is generally an issue. (plus I am gonna be doing about 50 levels for Alina sometime this month, and 16 moves, 4 to 4 mons each, for someone else.) On the flip side, I'm still learning to draw, so I have doubts I could do that art yet. The writing is far less intimidating. Especially if I know what I am writing about, like teaching moves. Cause things like a couple mons sparring and describing moves and action can fill up a lot of space very quickly. Especially if you tend towards being the more descriptive type. But hey, if my relatives help me out getting a drawing tablet for the holidays, I might be able to do more with the art. For now though, I will leave the choice up to you if levels are ok. Or a mix of points and levels. Cause it really is ok with me. As long as I have a direction to go in and clear personalities to work with, that's not a bad amount of writing as long as I have the time. And since I'm using this month to mostly do written payments and my own first chapter, this is the best time to do it.
(Oh, also, if it makes you feel better you can break the levels/moves up as well. Like the other person is doing. So a smaller amount of moves or levels per mon, and spread it over more than one submission. This would work too. Though for moves, I would still rather do at least two mons interacting for sparring or training or something. Just because again, it's easier to write for. But wanted to present this option since you seemed to be worried about 5000 words in one shot.)

Unfortunately, I do not need moves nor do I have intent on breaking a payment up between multiple mon. I actually need to evolve Pokémon for my own personal plot and 24 levels would do the trick. Besides, written payments do not conflict with art style problems, so I have no concerns with giving you a Pokémon that’s hard to draw if you don’t wAnt to do art.
My issue with moves is that if i give you the move minimum (again though, I do not need moves at this time), you can easily do 200 words per move and call it a day. That’s 2 levels per move. Meanwhile, asking for art of a move is, at minimum, 4 levels. It’s not a very good balance. Levels, however, means I benefit more. I certainly don’t need 12 moves in one submission just to reach that, as this character isn’t a battler in any way. I also don’t need levels for other characters, just this one right now.
So it’s really a matter of “do you honestly want to make up something that doesn’t involve battling for a single Pokémon, for almost 5000 words?” That’s a lot and I don’t want to impose that on someone. You saying you write a lot or saying you often hit limits during casual convos (btw those usually go by CHARACTERS not words, 2000 characters is the limit) doesn’t really make me feel any better.
The art portion however, wouldn’t matter to me. I love seeing people trying their best to improve or get things done and as long as they’re satisfied with what they’ve done or put in the effort, I’m happy and proud of them!
But again, it’s your call. 24 levels of writing alone, without moves to work with and just that character to use, is daunting. You’d basically be writing me a fanfiction one-shot. THATS why I’m so worried about this proposal.

Ah ok. Well explaining it in detail does help me understand your concern a little more. I am used to people needing a lot of both moves and levels for mons. Though if you need 24 levels to evolve your mons, it actually makes me *more* inclined to find a way to make this work. Still, I did propose a mix of levels and points, if you'd feel better about it. Or even a mix of written and art if you don't mind that I have no idea what I'm doing. But it kind of sounded like the mon you need the levels for would be a difficult one to draw (unless I misunderstood that part). So the mix of art might not be the best idea. Though I'd be willing to consider it depending on the mon. Again, partial points is an option too, don't forget. But if you need the levels, I still want to think of a way to get them to you.
Actually, according to the leveling journal, it's a 400 word minimum per move. Not that it's relevant, just pointing it out. So I think it's meant to be more equal to the art minimum.
(Well ok, maybe using the character limit is not a proper example, because yes it's only 2000 characters usually... even if I do have to break things up many times. It's not the most accurate. Sadly I don't have great examples of how much I write without showing private stuff I've been working on with people for their stories. And the payments I am going to be starting Monday).
Well this means I don't get to take the lazy approach (which is how I think of move teaching. >_<), but coming up with a mini-fic is just a matter of knowing the personality and having a good idea. Though it is a bit more work, it's not like it's bad. Hell, I fully expect the first chapter of my ranch's story to be at least 10-15k words. Just because so much needs to happen in the beginning. But of course, that does involve a lot of people and events. As for the situation at hand... well, I have proposed both partial points and partial art payments. So those are options as well. But I'd need to know how you would want to break that up. Though you did say you need about 24 levels, so I am more inclined to do at least art and writing in that case. (also, if it saves you time, you are welcome to discuss any details with me over discord. since talking in real-time might be a little faster).

if you'd like to do what the other people who do written payments do, you can write what you want, then however many levels are left that you need to do, you can either do art or let me know you're paying the rest in points

At this point, for the sake of simplicity, I'd say the final call is up to you. But I can either try to do pure points, or I can try to see if I can pull off 4 shaded pics with a background. Since you said art skill itself isn't such a big deal to you, and you make a good point that it would be faster, if nothing else. If you're willing to hold her for me, and can show me the mon you'd like the levels for, I can work on the art and if it takes too long or I'm having too many issues for some reason I can pay whatever is left in points. If this is ok with you. But I do want her. (Cause seeing her actually inspired a small side story, and I don't want to pass on mons who inspire me.) Sorry if all this was a pain. I realize I probably over-explained a lot in there.

*(sigh)* In all honesty, if you can hold her until Monday evening (so I make sure stuff has time to go through at the bank), I can just get her with points. Because that's probably easier for us both. I hate making people wait on things, and I do not know how long art I would try would take. I just don't want to miss out on her. I'll practice some during the break and hopefully my art will be something I can use more reliably down the road. Sorry for all the confusion and over-explaining. Thanks for your patience.
