Description I just joined a Digital Painting class, first thing to do: shadow and light practice.

So, 2 hours sketch, with photo reference.

Photoshop CS6 and a Wacom tablet.

P.S: BTW, I've been having troubles with smooth gradients on Photoshop, does anyone know how to avoid it, it wasn't the brush or gradient tool, It's like the program couldn't put enough shades of grey to make it smooth.

Ooh, wow looks really good.

I've not come across that problem in photoshop, that I've noticed anyway. It could be your brush settings, or some other settings hidden away somewhere. It could also just be your screen not showing it properly, I suppose.

Thanks! I don't think that it's from the screen because it shows other things right and zooming in should make the gradients smoother, and I also thought it could be the brushes, but I tried to apply gaussian blur, and it still looked weird... My profesor can't fix it either so I guess I'll have to learn to live with it... But thanks anyway, I'm glad you think it's good!

Oh well, hopefully you'll be able to fix it one day. And, no problem.
