We've got Dissidia - Final Fantasy coming in the first part of next year for the PSP, and to commemorate the launch of what looks to be a Super Smash Bros-styled Final Fantasy fighter, I present to you Round One:
Red XIII from Final Fantasy VII versus Blank from Final Fantasy IX
With Square-Enix's epic storytelling, these strange fights between characters come complete with back-stories. In this case, an innocuous domestic dispute concerning the homeowner Blank, and his not-so-domesticated pet, Red XIII, launches into a battle for the ages.
Yeah, no new sculpts this week, just a little diversion since I'm feeling a little uninspired lately.

I agree--two characters from each FF is a little lean, if you ask me. Still, that amounts to 24 characters (not counting Chaos and Cosmos), and some have yet to be announced. I wish they'd use some more obscure characters here and there, too. Jecht from FFX was a nice touch, though.

Heehee, no problem for Blank. All he needs is a squeakie toy to lob, and when Red runs after it like the bozo dog he is, Blank can just punt him in the butt.
