Description
A man without skin,
Rolls over and stares at a single blade of grass.
His eyes follow a thousand insects that move at the speed of thought,
Orderly, patiently, they enter his body,
Gnawing thru flesh.
Devouring from the inside out.

He tries not to recall the time,
He held his wife’s dripping dish-cloth face.
Slipping thru his fingers and to the carpet.

Her lover laying, chest open on the bed,
Puncture holes seeping blood –
Oh, so much blood,
As if there was little else.
Everywhere saturated like a twisted Pollock.
His face, the same expression of horror as when the door burst open.
The stench of sex unmistakable.

Do something brave, do something stupid.
Do something.

The skinless man,
Raw and obscene,
Rips into their bodies –
Hysterical, screaming,
A face mask of tears and sinew.
The couple no longer resemble anything close to human.

Y’see, insects are perfect.
They know very little of the evils of man –
War, hatred, rape, lies, deceit, jealously, greed, prejudice.

I wish I was an ant.
