Description I don't know why I didn't think to post this earlier! Hippy Vixen is one of my favorite pieces, as well as one of my most popular. I think she's so cute in that ditsy way of hers.

I think Afghans are the perfect hippie dog. I've got a couple sketches of one based of my old blonde afghan, Tasha. I think your whippet character would be very cute as a hippie.

LOL! You must be Canadian. All my Canadian friends call colored pencils pencil crayons. I suppose the later is likely the more correct name though. And I also do my entire picture in marker first, then shade and detail with pencil.

Theres one groovy vixen. :3 I love the way you detailed her fur. How did you accomplish that, if tradesecrets were up to being placed in the open?

Ha! It's all good. I color the fur with marker first, just one flat shade, sometimes I put in some shades as well. Then, I pick three color pencils, one for the highlights, one for the shadow, and one for the midtones. I go in and draw a bunch of lines to represent the fur, following the curves of the body, with the midtone color. Then I go in and draw more fur lines with the other two in the appropraite places. I try to keep my pencils sharp to retain the clarity of the fur lines.

Awe! I want to see the picture. We scan at 300 DPI, then size the image down to 72 DPI afterwards.

Hehe! That is my aunt! Looks and feels just like 'er! Heh. I like the bold colors and the subtle flowers on the peace sign. Her top is cool, but I'm not a fan of jeans. A skirt woulda been cool. Either way, it's great.

her neck looks a little distended but the way its curved like that really adds to the flow of the piece so it looks nice and your right that pose is perfect for her I love

Thank you! Yea, the neck is a bit messed up. I wanted to fix it, but I'd have had to change the distance between the head an shoulders, and I wasn't confident I'd capture her expression again.

still the neck looks great cause of how you have it curved to follow the rest of her body in the pose. so it lookslike she 's got her head up like she eard something or is looking for someone . and for the expression on her face I wouldn't have changed it that look was too priceless

I got the idea for the green outline from Chris Goodwin at Eselkunst.com. He got the idea from a famous poster artist. I can't remember the artist's name though.
