After winning the Splatfest (During the events of Meggy's Destiny and after Desti went back to heaven.), the Mario and Meggy went out for a walk around Inkopolis in the middle of the night to get away from the SMG4 gang partying at Meggy's Apartment and Callie joined in to make sure Mario and Meggy don't get into trouble. The two talked and gossip furing the walk and that's when Mario had the right timing to propose to Meggy and ask Meggy to marry him while Callie hold the microphone in front of Mario. And guess what Meggy said? She said yes!
