Actually its the opposite, she's loosing him for her stubborness, the only thing preventing them to be together really is her mentality of this, if you read carefully, he specificly says she's not an object yet still says she's not ''HIS'' to protect, on my end I just see that she imposes herself not to trust him out of pride about her ways of thinking xD
