So what is the process you take your photos through? Like, what camera settings do you use, and do you do any affecting afterwards in an editor? If so, what editor and what affects? Just curious, I really don't know the first thing about professional photography.

well, don't mistake what I do with professional photography. There are people who would hang you for such comparison.

All my works are HDRs. For every scene I take multiple expositions (usually 3) and then merge them using dedicated software. This way, ideally, all tones are equally detailed, despite whether they are shadows or highlights, which gives the picture a bit unnatural look. Then I put them to PS and apply more processing, mostly focused around the colours and contrasts

Fwoo! tough words. Well I still find what you do very impressive. What exactly makes you say your work is not professional?

And thanks for the info.

What exactly makes me say so? I do not earn money from that. I spend my life doing something totally different, with photography only as a side hobby. I spend monthly on photography amount that professional photographer should spend daily. So no, I am not professional - and neither my works are.

Well whatever you say. I never liked that the difference between professional and non-professional was whether you got paid to do the service or not, but either way, I think your photography is really grand!

but this is really the only difference between professional and amateur, per definition of these terms. of course it is not a rule that every professional photographer will make better pictures than every amateur.
