I was confused, then slightly disturbed, then more confused. Then I just accepted it, and stopped thinking of what's and started thinking of why's

I love the bright colours... everything looks so soft, like she's excepted it. I love how your lines aren't hard, or concrete. Very beautiful.

So beautiful, but so eerie. It really makes you think about the picture, and what is actually going on, her thoughts and about the jar.

This version gets under my skin. The fetus in the jar, the sofa where she's resting, part of the wall and floor, even some light reflections on her partially are of the same color. To me it's as if she's being absorbed because of that fetus in the jar; may it be a loss or may it be the longing for a child. Your artwork (not only this one) has an intriguing athmosphere. As a watcher I get caught by it and don't want to leave. Your style is great.

Evocative in nature, with the elegance and mystery of an old painting. This is one piece tat should not go unnoticed.

I must say I prefer this version to the newer one. Everything looks much more tangible(the glass in particular <3) and I love how the light actsin the windows and the jars . The other one is simply... too clean A mighty fine job, and a very interesting story hiding underneath.

It's a beautiful picture, but also kind of sad. To me it looks like the woman lying on the couch can't conceive, so she tried to create life elsewhere with other animals (which are the fetuses in the other jars), but she wasn't satisfied until she had a human baby. Since it looks like the baby's body is just being preserved (there's no tubes to feed it or anything), it makes me think that she was nearly able to have the child she wanted, but it died before it could be "born." So now she just keeps it preserved in a jar, because having the illusion that she has a child is better than having none at all.

... I just got deep. I'm going to write a short story based off this scene now, okay?

I like how this brings to mind the preciousness of a human child still developing inside the womb of his or her mother, but in this surreal picture, the development of the baby is happening outside the mother's body.

Limelight-Night In reply to Dogman15 [2013-02-02 01:17:21 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't say that's a developing fetus, more like a newborn...
