it is sometimes very painstaking task... but tripod, manual exposure and photoshop elements automate photomerge makes it all happen

Yup, you said it. It is really difficult and painstaking task, but the efforts are really worth it. Automate photomerge? Hmmm I must give it a try. I did use some software to stitch some pics but the result were not that great. The usual problem being the objects being rendered as spherical, giving it somewhat oval appearance.
