Oh, Jackie.
I'm not going to lie here, I REALLY love Jackie Lynn Thomas. She's one of my favorite cartoon girls ever. Not only is she beautiful, but her character is extremely likable. She's popular, but she's also kind, honest, and cool-headed. She isn't a jealous, bitter rival competing for Marco's heart; she's a sweet girl who cares about her friends and is very understanding of other people's feelings. She gave up her relationship with Marco just so he could be happy and go be with Star. She thought of his feelings before her own.
I, for one, really hope she comes back in the last season. Even if Marco and her aren't a couple, I don't see why that should keep them from being friends or keep her from being part of the story. She has so much potential to offer. And besides, Star views Jackie as a good friend, just like she does with Janna, so why keep her out?
That aside, BEAUTIFUL job on this drawing. You really did Jackie justice (as well as peaked the interest of those who theorize that she's secretly a mermaid in disguise). I must comment on the color here. The blues are lovely. The sky, the sea, and the scales all fit well with the main subject. You can see a bit of blue in just about everything. As for the other colors, Jackie's blonde hair and golden scales really stand out. The folds in her shirt and the shape of the scales are all finely detailed, and the sun and curved clouds really nail the composition. The sun provides balance to Jackie, not only because she's in the middle, but because of how the light is part of everything. It flows over Jackie beautifully, from her hair to what literally lies beneath the surface. You've made her one with both land and sea.
She a fantastic character and I'm so glad other people think so too.

Jackie is a big mystery for me, she's example of good character with a kind heart, emotional maturity and stability but at same time we know so little about her outside this traits I wish they showed us more. Because she is, indeed, too good for the show at moment I think they needed to take her away from the story for a moment. But as you, I wish she came back for season 4 so we can discover more about her.
