The Wood Ducks returned recently and immediately moved back into their nest. Only problem is that the lake would have normally been free of ice for a few weeks by now. And at this point it is still looking like it will be covered for a week or two yet. And if that wasn't odd enough we got a freak spring snow storm today. But the male stood guard as the female lined the nest with her down. The eggs will need it if this weather doesn't smarten up soon!Related content

Yes this is you all over. The clarity, composition and focus is amazing. I love the big bright saturated eyes on this duck and the thick settled snow it sits on. You can even see the tiny snowflakes falling off the end which shows how sharp it is. Great quality.

including today but forecast says snow Saturday

They are very cool and new to the area. Lots of people are interested and I assume it's cuz of their looks. And the fact that they nest in trees ... lol

not sure about that! Although I have seen geese up on roofs .... both on buildings and my boat lift. Not quite the same thing but still doesn't look right
