Description                                I. Collective Cookies

Obesity, the number one epidemic of American school children, threatening the health and public image of American society. Who should we blame? The parents, who lead by example? Fast food companies, selling fat with cheap plastic toys? I would like to propose that we blame the school system. Not only have they been cutting recess, they have conditioned us to eat in a way that would be considered appalling even to savages. We have been trained to eat as much and as fast as we possibly can. (We've also lost out social skills, as our only interactions these days are fighting over cookies, which are apparently, according to my friend, "collective," but that's beside the point.)
These unhealthy habits are not doing us any favors. Like, how do the French see us? A two hour meal devoured in thirty minutes? Scandalous! Cake and ice cream instead of cheese and fruit for desert? Unthinkable! So emulate the French - and give me all your cookies.
