The waves roll by me,Singing.
The sound reverberates
In my heart,
Throughout my whole being.
The waves are so much like me.
Sometimes they are stormy,
And the wildness threatens the safety of life.
The seagulls cry, and the wind blows.
Things will fly away
If not tied down.
Other times they are as smooth as glass,
Carrying peace and joy on the ripples.
The water gently kisses the bare feet
That, although they don't belong there,
Are welcomed as a friend.
Water is like liquid glitter,
Especially when the sun hits it
Just right,
And it blinds you,
But you don't care.
While swimming you are one;
You can't tell where water ends
And flesh begins.
Together we dance
To our own song.
The song of the waves.
