Another project just recently submitted, we had to create four postcards that depicts a journey of some sort. My initial idea was supposely about an orphan girl who grew up in an industrial/militaristic dystopia Japan and finally able to escape from this dystopia world. (Zzzz....) unfortunately, because I wasn't able to finish up the character on time I was only able to submit the background instead (huge a** SIGH) =/

"It's great but it's just DYING to be ALIVE" I quote from my lecturer (I hope I heard that correctly).

Many references were used in this artwork. Most were used from during my trip to Shanghai's old town and several more from Chinatown in Melbourne. The large industrial building on the other hand was from an office building just beside QV centre (<- for all you curious Melburnians heh )

(Oh and yes you're correct, that is Miyazaki's bathhouse from Spirited Away)
