Description Please go to this link: deviantartworldwide.deviantart… to vote for my art to advance.
This is my entry for the competition on DeviantArtWorldwide about the nineties, and I'd love to get through.

This is supposed to be for all the nineties kids, you know who you are.

You wore dungarees and bright t-shirts containing every colour under the sun.
You wore a baseball cap backwards coz Ash Ketchum did it, and he was the coolest.
You wore Doc Martens, and you yelled "Eat my shorts" at people you didn't like.
You sang, "I'm blue da ba dee da ba die" and you were either Backstreet Boys or Nsync.
You wore your thumbs out on Gameboys, and you rollerbladed like a boss.
You bought a Furby and never played with it, you got a Tamagotchi and you killed it.
You either wanted to be a Powerpuff Girl or Spiderman,
You didn't get upset about not having a cellphone coz no one had them.
You didn't collect facebook friends, you collected beanie babies.
You had no idea what cyberbulling was, no one did, and Playstation was the coolest thing in the world.
You were small, but the world was so big.
You were a child of the nineties. Β

And spoke like him. My brother rented that movie when I was thirteen. When one of the gremlins transformed, I only said one thing as I walked out of the room. Goodbye childhood.

. I was a huge fan of Pokemon, Liberty's Kids, and Talespin. Especially Talespin. I have Season 1 on dvd.

Talespi had a bunch of different plots and stories. You don't have to watch them in order, but there are some that are split into parts.

You'll love it! I can watch it all day if I had the opportunity. Those were the days. On the bright side, I have a replacement show that is just as fun as 90s Disney series, in my opinion: Gravity Falls.

I have been writing a fanfic of it. Hope you like it. It's set a year after the events that are currently taking place in the show.

Can't say I remember any kids like this, but then I guess the is the US or something?

She's a cute little tomboy though!

Bella-Anima In reply to TheGroundedAviator [2015-02-07 10:43:45 +0000 UTC]

Nah, this is Ireland in the nineties from the perspective of a child. A lot of kids I knew and myself dressed like this when we were quite small, though it is a mashup of a few years.

Where do you hail from? What was the nineties like for you?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheGroundedAviator In reply to Bella-Anima [2015-02-07 11:16:40 +0000 UTC]

Didn't think it was USA, too "imaginative" for them. In 10-15 years it'll be back, by then we'd (NOT meaning you and me, just us in general) would probably have them.

New Zealand, and too be honest I don't really remember (rather young and didn't really notice)Β much but I didn't see any of this. I was the dull quiet type who shied away from most.

Bella-Anima In reply to TheGroundedAviator [2015-02-09 21:39:49 +0000 UTC]

Aha! Aotearoa! You guys had some 90's style. The kid's show You & Me with Suzy Kato, she was 200% stereotypical 90's fashion icon, right down to the leggings and mad huge jackets.

There was a couple more I remember watching that were really 90's, just can't remember their names.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheGroundedAviator In reply to Bella-Anima [2015-02-10 05:13:40 +0000 UTC]

Wow, don't get many outside saying that! It's just a modest second name usually too look PC (not being offensive).
Man I remember that show now, sort of. Did it air overseas?
I was just the dull boy and didn't go in for it... well the male stuff, never the drag type! Odd when a guy wears feminine it's one thing but when it's the other way around she's a badass tomboy.

There was a show called "What Now", started in the 80's and is probably still running.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Bella-Anima In reply to TheGroundedAviator [2015-02-10 16:02:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I used to live there in the early 2000's, so there were remnants of the nineties still floating around.

I remember What Now! That was a fun show, all the gunge and stuff.

Nineties was pretty grunge though wasn't it? All the baggy jeans and huge jumpers, and then the really loud T-shirts with cartoons all over them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheGroundedAviator In reply to Bella-Anima [2015-02-10 19:53:53 +0000 UTC]

Makes sense.

Yeah, now I don't wake up so early on Sunday and I doubt it's what itΒ used too be. They used too mock (in a light way) the world around them.
You know there is a story about how the name came? It goes like this, the TV big wigs were planning such a show as TV was finally on a world standard this far down and wanted a show like those overseas for kids and had only some time too get it set up and when they ere planning the name one said "what are we going too call it?", another said "don't know but we have too think of one now".

Oh yeah, I remember Disney T-shirtsΒ ones the most! I think my sister had a number of ones with Simba from "The Lion King" on them... her first childhood crush! Wouldn't be half surprised is this girl turned around she'd have a partly covered Disney character on hers!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Bella-Anima In reply to TheGroundedAviator [2015-02-16 23:56:14 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it was pretty fun.

Wow, I didn't know that! Β  I just gained 20% more knowledge in my head thanks to you!

Ah my sister had Simba ones too! I had a purple one with Ariel on the front, that's why the girl's shirt is purple.

No surprise there.
