hey! Sorry for the late reply. They are just normal granny squares. (Well the first round of a square) but I used a thick wool with a thinner needle to get the effect.

Hi, Sorry I never replied, haven't been on here for a long time! Each pixel is the first round of a granny square, I have then simply crochet them all together
