Bio:
Not to be confused with the evil LNER B12 of same name, Alfred is a very large and powerful American express passenger engine with a very large boiler, a high running plate, six large driving wheels, four leading wheels painted to resemble the pre-1942 United States Air Force insignia, four trailing wheels, very large cylinders, a large red cowcatcher, a medium-height funnel with a small auxiliary funnel and permanently-attached headlamp in front and a brass bell behind, two domes, a large spacious cab, a gigantic 12-wheeled tender (not pictured), and a khaki livery with reddish-brown lining, an American flag insignia on each side of his cab and on his cylinders, and the number 50 on each of his tender, as well as a pair of bottom-frame glasses and a lock of dirty blonde hair on top of his smokebox (both retained from his human form) who works on the mainline. Built in 1929 at the Lima Locomotive Works in New York, America, Alfred arrived in Sodor in June 1942 as part of the United States Army Transportation Corps (USATC) 534th "Fightin' Hell-Engines" Platoon (which also included All Might, Guile, Shota, Mirio, Bacchus, Ralph, Kent, Toriko and) to help with the Allied war effort in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany during World War II, and joined the North Western Railway with the rest of his platoon after being purchased by Sir Topham Hatt shortly after becoming surplus following Germany's surrender. Although Alfred is cheerful, optimistic, energetic, friendly, often address others as "dude/dudette", and believes fervently in heroism, justice and freedom, he is also somewhat loud, immature, naive, gullible and conceited, often refers himself to as "The Hero", and often sticks his nose into everyone else's business, which caused him to have difficulty making friends at first (especially Carnelian, who once mistrusted him as an "cocky, overpowered, oversized, late-for-every-war Yankee engine" (this is based on Fowler's mistrust of Rocky in Chicken Run), and Arthur (the English Engine)), but underneath all of his drawbacks, Alfred is naturally kind and compassionate at heart, and has won the praise of Sir Topham Hatt and the trust of the NWR fleet through hard work and amazing feats such as rescuing Naruto when he fell down a mine (just like what Thomas did, but this time on accident), pulling the express for Gordon when he burst his safety valve (again), piloting Belldandy to Wellsworth Station when she ran out of water, and saving Carnelian when his train of fuel tankers caught fire. Alfred is also incredibly strong and call pull 40 coaches and 80 trucks with little effort, although even he can get stuck up Gordon's Hill if his load is too heavy. Strangely, although he shows no fear in facing Diesel 10, Alfred, like Luigi, is terrified of ghosts; when he, Thomas, Belldandy and Ichigo encountered Timothy one Halloween, he freaked out at the sight of the ghost engine, which added to Timothy's confusion and sadness (in my Thomas fanart/fanfiction, Timothy isn't evil, but merely a tragic, misunderstood character), and he showed the same reaction when he heard Skarloey's tale about a ghost engine. Nevertheless, he enjoys stories with happy endings, and hopes that his future will be that way. Alfred's best friend is Kiku the Japanese Engine, while his other friends include Feliciano, Ludwig (despite being enemies in WWII), Yao, Yong-Soo, Thomas, Percy, Hank, Sam, Connor, Kaitlyn, James, Richard, Hiro, Edward, Emily, Molly, Rebecca, Belldandy, Mario, Luigi, Link, Shulk, Ray, Mariah, Goku, Shrek, Naruto, Sylvando, Zarina, Carnelian (despite his initial mistrust of him), Hanataro, Tsukutsun, All Might, Ralph, Callie and Marie, Captain Falcon, Hendrik (despite him often reprimanding him for his behaviour) and Sailor Mars, while his enemies include Alfred the Evil B12 (especially since he shares the same name as him), Vinnie (because he bullied him when he was still in America), Diesel 10, Devious Diesel, Bert and 'Arry, D199, Alfred (the B12), Aizen, Orochimaru, Kabuto, Shigaraki, Stain, Bowser, Ganondorf, Black Shadow, Zoda, Queen Beryl, Hazama, Dr. Octopus, M. Bison, Lord Farquaad, Medusa, Dr. Cortex, Mumkhar and Sayoko. He also has something of a crush on Lucy, and is at loggerheads with Arthur the English Engine (not to be confused with Arthur the LMS Tank Engine or Arthur the Cowboy Engine), although, deep down inside, they truly care for one another. His catchphrases are "I'm the Hero!", "Yes, we can!" and "Dude/dudette, is it blowing your mind yet, or what?".

Fun Fact: The basis for Alfred's engine form is the New York Central Railroad (NYCRR) Class J1b 4-6-4. The second class in the famous New York Central J-class "Hudson" 4-8-4 series, which also included the streamlined J3a "Super Hudsons" (Connor's class), these engines were introduced in 1928 for express passenger traffic on the NYCRR, were famous for hauling the NYCRR's top-link passenger trains such as the 20th Century Limited and the Empire State Express, and were also used by the Boston and Albany Railroad, the Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railway, the Michigan Central Railroad, and the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway. Regretfully, like all the other New York Central Hudson classes, all of the J1bs were withdrawn and scrapped by 1957 due to the dieselisation of the NYCRR, and none were preserved, although the tender of one of the J1ds, No.5313, which was converted to a steam generator car for use on passenger trains, is preserved at the Steamtown National Historic Site.
