Description
A little something loosely inspired by seeing another artist's wonderful Ceratosaurus char adopt art, I also incorporated a character idea I've had for a while. So here, we have two characters, Azahara Sofia Narvaez Medina and Felix Jose Toledano; Azahara is a Ceratosaurus/Carcharodontosaurus from Andalusia and Felix is a Torvosaurus/Metriacanthosaurus from Castile. During the Spanish Civil War, they were initially on opposite sides, Azahara fighting for the CNT-FAI and Felix for the Carlists; after the Republican victory in spring 1939, Felix fled with most of the remaining Nationalists to the Canaries, where they vowed to return. Azahara didn't get to enjoy the victory as, since she was a democratic socialist, was eventually targeted by the communists and was hunted by the Guardia Asalto; by the time war broke out that September, she managed to escape with some friends and comrades to Morocco. In early 1940, the Free Spanish Forces were formed with the express purpose of retaking the mainland from the communists and Felix was an early and eager volunteer; Azahara and some of her cohorts joined the FSF in the fall and they were shipped to Central Africa for their training. Felix and Azahara encountered each other while in French Congo combating Communard troops and it took a while for the two to warm up to each other. They were opposites in not only their ideologies but also their general personalities, Azahara being flirtatious, carefree, and outgoing while Felix is closed, conservative, and introverted.
