I actually just got done trying to make onigiri for the first time

-What kind of rice did you use?
-do you chill it so that it holds its shape?
-I was reading some of the comments, I have the same salt problem. Does plastic wrap work well?

~For the rice, i don't really know if it was the rice specifically for sushi since i did this at my aunts house. but it looked like regular rice i eat at dinner.
~We didn't chill anything since we were gonna eat it right after we make them. i'm not sure if chilling it will make it hold it's shape. maybe it does and the ear wouldnt have fell off 
~YES~ the saran wrap totally helps. i never knew about the salt thing though, so the first time i made it in my bare hands, it was a disaster. my cousin taught me to use the plastic wrap and it worked out for us (:
