Description
This comic is based on the events in the original BOOK version of Howl's moving castle(which is so much better and different compared to the movie, sorry dear Studio Ghibli).Basically what happened was that granny-Sophie got so jealous of Howl, who kept going out to flirt and win Lettie Hatter's love(or this is what Sophie thought), that she secretly cut up his best coat to million pieces and hid them. She ended up with guilty conscience though and tried to fix the situation later, trying not to let Howl notice anything had happened xD
PS: I drew the characters looking like they do in the film in order to keep them recognizable to most people.

This little comic strip makes me chuckle either outwardly or inwardly every time I see it, and it never fails to put a smile on my face. I recently watched the movie, and then proceeded to read the book, so it makes my day to see the two combined, especially this scene was hilarious in the book.
Howl's expressions as he silently berates Sophie are hilarious. This will never fail to make my day when I see it.

Yeah you are correct, but I tried to combine the book and the movie here, and because I've made everything else look like from the movie, it would be odd to make Howl wear some other coat than his usual. Atleast I recall this was my logic xD

how can church opening music be from anime?! Yeah I really hate that I feel dissappointed to the movie-version, I mean I usually adore Ghibli so I like feel I am betraying them xD! But the movie has less soul and they have modified the characters to no end, almost so much that only their name is left the same. It's so sad how people only know the movie, when the book is way better. There are so many scenes in the book that just make me burst in laughter.

Unitarian Universalists are one of the weird-er churches - it's not really a church. The theme of the service was magic and mystery, so the opening music was Ghibli...XD
I totally get you. A lot of my favorite scenes were left out, and some of my favorite characters weren't even mentioned. Like Martha - only Lettie in the cake shop was included. Ah well. Win some, lose some.

Thanks so much! I feel a bit bad using the character from the movie, after all the movie is so different, and even the author herself(I read this from somewhere) said the the ghibli movie is very far from her book. But no one would recognize the characters otherwise, oh well... Atleast Sophie is propably accurate xD

I have conflicted feelings about both. I saw the movie before I read the book, so I had expectations that were not met, but then I looked back at the movie and realized how REALLY different they made it. I love both the book and the movie to death though. I just have to think of them as two different stories so I don't fly off the handle. I have a peeve with movies that don't follow their books, but this is one exception.

You should read it! It's very funny and original, and all the characters are so interesting(especially Howl). Hard to make fan-art of it though, because its only me and the 1 out of 100 of DA visitors that have read it... Everyone only knows the movie, which is good but so different.
