Now this...THIS is the MOS Power Girl! Personally, I would have gone with a golden rope for the cape instead those metal thingies, but this is the kind of Power Girl we should see in the DC Cinematic Universe. It looks kick-ass, it's true to the MOS style, and more importantly, it's original, it's not just some rip-off of Clark's uniform, it actually gives PowerGirl uniqueness and personality - which, the way I see it, is the point of a superhero costume.
Great idea using Kate Upton as the model. I always thought that she would make the perfect Yelena Belova in the MCU, as she is one of few actresses who can actually go toe-to-toe with Scarlett Johansson in terms of hotness.

If you ask me we should start all over with the DC movieverse and follow Marvel's example

Makes sense with the new Ant Man movie coming up! When I pick these up again I'll add the Wasp to the list. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ben-Wilsonham In reply to JonFreeman [2013-07-29 11:14:40 +0000 UTC]
I wanted to leave the 'boob window' out but as so many people have asked about it, it just goes to show that it's an iconic part of her costume.
So I made it considerably smaller and changed it to the shape of the crest, making it a tribute to Kyrpton and hopefully giving it more meaning then just 'look at these!'.Β
In the film Cal-el's ship was able to make him a suit because the Symbol 'Hope' was what the Krypton explorers wore when they ventured out to space long ago (happy coincidence!).
With Power Girl she would not be able to replicate this so I left it empty; a hollow tribute to her dead planet and origins.
Hope this answers your question!

I love that costume design!! The use of the crest shape is sublime in its design, implying the Superman idiom while rendering its image completely absent. Also, this is much more flattering and *logical* for the character since that looks 1) more practical for her buxom form, and 2) less exploitive (Seriously, "Oh, I'll just cut a hole out here; so I have a place to tuck my cellphone.")

Ben-Wilsonham In reply to Zexyz [2013-07-26 08:51:54 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for the very kind words, this has been the whole point of the series I've been doing with female superheroes.Β
They don't need to be chewing on leather leotards or be extra top heavy to look sexy or more important powerful.
Obviously the actresses that would play them are more attractive than real life itself, but I just couldn't see them wearing those types of costumes and be taken seriously.
With the crest I thought how would she be in the new films, may be she can't remember her family crest but knows she is Kryptonian or she has an empty crest as a tribute to her dead planet.Β
I thought I would try to get more of a meaning than just 'Oh those things? Those are my boobs!'
Thanks again!
