At first I couldn't quite tell what was going on in the drawing, but after reading the caption I can see that the woman is sitting on a bench connected to the merry-go-round.
The shading and detail on the drawing was well done and there isn't anything bad I can say about it.
What is most interesting about the image is the expression on the woman's face; she is either worried or lost in thought. This fills the viewer's heads with many possible ideas of what she is thinking. Perhaps she is trying to find an inspiration, or mabey worried for her child who is riding alone?
Perhaps the woman is fearful of merry-go-rounds? If this is true, then why does she have this fear? Is she is trying to get over her fear? Perhaps someone is forcing her to ride the merry-go-round; or mabey a friend asked her to ride with them because they didn't want to ride alone.

Found this in the latest uploads section and was quite taken by it. Then I recognized the artist name, someone I'm a fan of and following already.

Its a really distinctive image. The composition is outstanding. The central position of the model is perfect. She is right in the centre of an amazing symmetry of complex lines and shapes that surround and point to her.

The post work is equally excellent, original and distinctive, like a sophisticated pencil drawing crossed with HDR.

The model is beautiful and well posed though when I look carefully she looks like she might be a little bit cold. That's really the only fault I can find with this. It's very minor and I only noticed that after a while of staring at the image writing this critique.

I don't agree with the previous critique that the model should be left in colour. Partial colour shots sometimes work but have been overdone in the past now tend towards cliché. The composition and slightly darker tones of the model are easily enough to provide a strong emphasis on the subject. And the monochrome style of this work is what makes it really stand out, what makes it fresh and original.

first of all a great pic i love the contrasts of light because you have no really dark pieces and the model in the middle is well chosen i love the setting becasuse its on a fair ground ride so all ready providing a happy aora but then when you look at the girl she looks slightly upset or suprised but still i love the picture because it gives a really retro lookbut i would have kept the colour of the girl because then she would stand out moreor kept the colour of the side rails but overall i great pic well done!!

this photo have other processing Ben, well the perpective is excellent. Is a wide angle lens?. I have the original Nikon and Leica (are my jewels original crystal 24mm) and is perfect to landscapes. Models zoom or more that 70mm, but this model is stylized and also not deformed! With a 50 mm just is a problem for me. Never for you !!! Excellent work my dear friend!

I don't remember the merry go round near us being this fancy schmancy. But I think there is a rather famous one near me.

Wow, this is exquisite. The detail is perfect, and the contrast is well done. It is a good black and white. The only thing I would advise to change is to get rid of the blurr on the bottom edges because it does not fit with the rest of the photo, which is so clear. But over all it was breathtaking. Excellent work!

Love it all... the ornateness of the setting, the perspective... and I just figured out whom this model always reminded me of - actress Summer Glau.
