Had no idea you worked off such a rough pencil sketch, your inks are fantastic.
Look forward to colors over at battle-artist (if one of your inks get voted in)

About 6 hours total since I printed so light I had trouble with the hair and had to wing it but everything else went pretty fast. I made a couple of adjustments in Photoshop before I printed it like the back guys face since it was skewed.

You did a crazy-awesome job of it. 6 hours is a pretty good time too considering how much decision-making you had to have made. Good too, that you recognized problem areas to fix before printing...always a time-saver. I showed it to Tommy Patterson and he especially loved how you rendered the hair. You elevated the pencils several notches. Def a great portfolio piece too.

thanks just happy i did the pencils justice. That hair was a bitch with it being printed so lightly. I think i can print them out a little darker now that im using a little different technique in cleaning up the page in photoshop after scanning.

I keep messing around with what works best as far as clean up... you can make a shortcut function to remove blue tones...but recently, after scanning, I play up the dark and medium tones on the slider, then using a giant burn tool at 10%, I go over the whole page. It keeps the finest lines, sharpens everything like crazy, with no hint of smudges or blueline left... The files are super clean and MUCH smaller. I went from some pages being 17MB or higher to right around 7MB. Not too mention because it's so much cleaner it makes it easier to color without worrying about fuzzy edges or grayness...

im doing very much the same thing but I use burn and dodge at about 20% after I do some adjusting with levels. I usually just make everything darker, dodge out left over grey and burn in then lines, especially any dry brush, then I go back to levels and lighten the white level just a little and gives me a much better look I think. And yeah file sive is much smaller now very manageable for emails now heh. I know there is a way to use BMP with threshold at 60% but I dont like the look. I dont even really print in blue now just grey since its going to be that way anyway in photoshop. You can also use smart sharpen on your pages to give it a crip look almost like BMP but better but you have to get rid of the grey or it will make stippling dots where its trying to read the grey as back or white.
