Description
This is a collage based on the last movie from the late great Lee family. Just as my 'Pensive Marilyn,' I have had a curious fascination with both Bruce and Brandon Lee. I remember the day we lost Brandon, seeing Steven Seagal on E! explain how terrible the miscue of the prop manager truly was.Loved the original comic book, loved the movie, none of the sequels or rips did any justice to Brandon's remarkable performance. I wanted to BE Eric Draven, the lost guitarist, waved, wet hair, a passionate lover, extracting his unique justice against those who showed no remorse for their decrepid morality. Proyas' camera movements, colors, scenery, the music; brilliant.
This was done in 1996-ish, in colored pencil. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-30 hours.

I love this deviation... and I love the film... it's a pity that sequels are never as good as their originals... look at rocky horror picture show and compare it with shock treatment... the first one rocks, the second almost sucks...

This is awesome. The movie was one of the first I ever really got emotionally attached to, and as you've seen, I have several Crow pieces in my gallery.

Thanks. I loved everything Brandon and Bruce at the time. I even remember the day he died, I remember the interviews and newscasts on E! TV. It's a bit quirky, but that's my version of the Kennedy experience.

As much as I like the piece, I think I enjoyed your description more! The Crow (in both its forms) holds a very special place in my heart. They expressed more sincerely feelings that, today, have been stereotyped and popularized. The Crow was by far Brandon's finest hour.

Thanks! Haven't gotten a comment on this in a while. I could do a much better job on it now, but such is art.
I'm more of a Bruce fan, largely based on his philosophy, but Brandon was destined for greatness, and The Crow really pulled at me internally.
I will be doing another piece of Lee, as the Crow, with a guitar. Any ideas? He'll be alone, maybe on a rooftop, let me know if you have some brainstorms about the style/ background/ ambience/ anything at all.

I was thinking you could have him sitting on his own gravestone, melancholicly playing his guitar. Either that, or you could make it Brandon's head stone. After all, no one really remembers anything else that he did, so the ghost of the crow really haunts that grave.

Great idea! I have some shots of Brandon's tombstone, right next to Bruce's, that would make for a great shot. I'm gonna sketch some thoughts, thanks for brainstorming for me! I'll keep you posted.

Excellent colour choice and composition. Some areas are extremely detailed like the jacket, various highlighting and shadows in all areas. If possible you could complemtn you accuracy by making the background colour gradients more blended. Well done.

I love that movie so much. It had so many different elements in it...joy..sorroy...revenge..action it had it all and Brandon was so beautiful... This is an awesome portrayal of the different aspects of the movie. I especially like the walking pose on the left..I have a figurine of that

I love the movie, and I love this collage you put together. I just kind of skimmed past it not noticing it, I later noticed it and it actually gave me a bit of shivers.
Very good drawing, you really capture his expressions quite well, and the resembelence is quite good. +Fav for sure.

Great collage. The Crow was a great movie and Brandon Lee was a very good/sexxy actor, so he played the part well.. I would try and work on the focus a bit, but I can tell it seems to be the scan that blurred it. -Kia Lola

hell yes...and i agree about the sequels. Brandon rocked that movie and i was absolutly bummed over his death. I eventually want to do a sculp of the character as it was such an influential story.
