"The more lines you use on the face, the older it looks." This is something mediocre art teachers who have no idea of what they are talking about keep telling their students. You can draw a child's face with a thousand lines and a 100 year old with 10, if you can draw. I wish these inane blanket statements would die out, they hinder much more than they could ever help.
