Miss You

A Leo/Usagi Fic – Usagi gets killed in a fire, Leo has trouble accepting that fact until he and the others are on a patrol and save a pet shop. Leo saves a white rabbit and it suddenly hits him that he’ll never see Usagi again. (I’m not doing it justice)

Leo watched from an adjacent building as the flames climbed higher, the shop totally engulfed by the inferno. He clutched the trembling body of a small white rabbit close. He and his brothers had been able to save the creatures in the small pets shop on the bottom floor.

He watched mesmerized by the flames, his eyes glistening, reliving his most horrific memory within the dancing of the flames
//Why couldn’t I save you ….// he squeezed his eyes shut, pulling the small creature in his arms close to his heart in a crushing embrace
He felt the soft fur under his fingers, the beating heart next to his chest, even the supple scent… it was almost………almost……..but never again.

Never again would he talk with the quiet Samurai, practice battle moves with his friend or share a quiet moment together in either of their worlds
Leo felt a tear slide down his cheek, landing in the fur that was so similar to and yet a mere mockery of his lost friend. “I miss you………”
