Anyway, back for the weekend. Decided to kill my last few hours with a random drawing. Knew I wanted a dragon-horse beastie, and it took off from there.
Fun with foreshortening! Something I haven't been able to get right before! I also couldn't find very good refs of equine muscles, so I threw them on as best I could.
Shading was totally fun, and I love how it turned out. I should do dynamic lighting more often!
Background just sort of came to be, and the bird was added as an afterthought. Markings are random.
Tools: Wacom Intuos 5 Large, PaintTool SAI.
Time spent: 6 Hours.

References: No reference used for the pose, face or anything, but I did get some help with the muscles from ver a dozen photos from the internet. One for hair as well.
