"Mar is a Disney princess." - inspiring quote by Nyanfood.

Sooo I basically took a random unannounced semi-hiatus for the past month (maybe a bit more), so it's nice to be back hehe...
This piece is meant to represents springtime and flowers and all of those fun things, since apple blossoms are in full bloom during spring and I really like those - so prettyyy ;;v;;
It also happens to coincide with the end date of the contest, as the weather is starting to really warm up where I am *^*

For the last contest, I chose to draw Lazuli, as she's a gorgeous character; however, since then, I feel like I've really matured a lot as an artist and as a person, so I chose to draw Mar, who is beautiful in a very different way, and who I know I wouldn't have had the maturity or skill level to even think about attempting way back then considering all of her details and such. The above quote served as a large part of my inspiration for this entry, as I wanted to depict Mar in all of her elegance while keeping her kind, fun and loving personality distinct in this piece. My original concept (which is somewhere in my sketchbook) was a summer concept, but I switched entirely and I don't regret it.

Looking back at the Lazuli piece really makes me realize just how far I've come - especially in digital art, as that was one of my first digital works back when I was still drawing with my finger on an iPad and I hadn't figured out how brushes and clipping layers worked. I've made it a bit of a personal mission to eventually make print-quality works, and I think this contest has brought me another step closer to that goal.

That said, thank you so much, Mar, for all of your extensions and the last mini-extension. Even though there was technically tons of time for everyone to work, life does get in the way ;;v;; There wouldn't have been so many beautiful entries in the gallery otherwise... I looked through them and they're amazing *^*

Finally, thank you to fuwaffy (who everyone here needs to check out if you haven't already) for the advice on skirts and petticoats and such; it helped a lot and I'm sure it'll continue to be helpful in future drawings <33
