I have two as pets, they're really cute, they're slow too, which is I think why I like them.

One neat fact (kinda gross) about them is that they have bacteria in the lining of their intestine in order to digest some of the things they eat, and since when they go through metamorphosis they shed that lining, the young stay with their parents until they themselves are adults and eat the feces of their parents to regain that bacteria..... yaaaaaaay. XD

AND, their heads are almost completely underneath and backwards, their mouths face backwards, but their eyes are on the top most part of their heads.
