Description Mrs Penelope Goof with son Maxamillion George Junior Goof.
No. I did not make those names up.
In the 50s George G. Goof (aka Goofy) had a wife. Altough you never see her face in the short cartoons. She appears with Minnie and Daisy in comics as Penny Glorybe. It is widely believed that she is one and the same person because in the short "Fathers are People" Goofy states when Max is born that he has red hair like his mother. (his hair grew out black just like mine used to be bleach blonde when I was little and it grew out brown, ugh) Penny is the only girl Goofy dated before Max was born that had red hair. She disappeared by the time Goof Troop came out and no one knows what happened to her. Thank You ZooHoo for the info.

This is my take on Penny's design from the comics, and max's design from the 50s shorts I did from memory. It's suppose to be a photograph of the two of them together before Goof Troop.

This is my first try at coloring using the computer so please comment.

Penny Goof and Max Goof copywrited by Disney.

I really like this comic a lot. The info also ties in well with the red headed kid Goofy had in the old shorts and Max as he is now. I don't know for sure, but I think Goofy is a widower.

I think if Goofy was divorced, she would be mentioned or come up in an episode. However, I've noticed in Disney when a character is widowed, they tend to just not bring up the absent spouse which is why I think it's very likely that Goofy is a widower.

Thank you. at youtube you can find Fathers are People. the short where Max is born but I don't know about any others. however in the cartoons you never see her face. I drew her based on the comics she appears in.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
Its on Youtube!!!
I've searched and searched for it on there....It must have been uploaded within the past like...1 to 5 months because I used to search the internet all the time for it...but I just gave up....
Thanks for letting me know its on there!!!
I'm one of the biggest Max fans ever...
Last year when I was at Disney World I got to go into Minne's house...I'm guessing the people at the park built it back in the 50s or 60s....well anyway there was a letter hanging on Minne's wall from Penny....I found that really interesting.

wow that's so interesting! I never knew that about "Mrs. Goofy"

I think you did a really good job on this! The shadows are done well, and the window is a nice touch to the overall composition

Thanks. Yeah I like how the shadows turned out on Mrs Goof as well. And the window is my lame try at forshadowing. notice the car? Many think she died in a wreak.

I never knew that. I had heard that she had died, but I didn't know what it was that killed her most likely.

definitely, all the shading is great
Was her death never officially explained?
Did you ever see that cartoon were Goofy is showing safety in the car? that might be a little iron if his wife died in a wreak.

no, the wreak is just a popular theory.
