Cuando conocí al dilophosaurus mutante o "Spitter" de Jurassic Park (aka mi dino favorito de la franquicia), y sus características: aspecto reptiloide, crestas que de frente parecen cuernos, una gola y escupir veneno; poco le faltaba para ser un dragón. O técnicamente ya era un dragón no-volador. Así que me tomé la libertado de completarlo.

Además de reemplazar el volante por alas, le di un torso más compacto y ancho (para los músculos de las alas), cola delgada y rígida y el hallux o 1er dedo toca el suelo. Además, debido al escaso número de dedos, decidí que las alas serían sostenidas por varillas cartilaginosas, homólogas al raquis en las alas de las aves.
El resultado me recuerda mucho a los dragones heráldicos. A decir verdad, creo que le encajaría perfecto el nombre de Basilisco.

Bueno, espero que les guste mi dragón venenoso.^^

Saben, aunque siempre consideré al ejemplar que encontró Nedry como un juvenil, actualmente tiene sentido que en realidad se trataba de una especie más pequeña, lo cual explicaría su volante y su habilidad para escupir veneno: como un sistema de defensa contra depredadores más grandes, igual que una cobra escupidora.
Por lo tanto el Spitter que atacó a Nedry no lo estaba cazando, sino defendiendo su territorio o eliminando a una posible amenaza.
De otro modo no se dejaría ver ni usaría su volante, simplemete lo asaltaria y lo mordería para que el veneno surta efecto más rápido en el torrente sanguíneo.

Por último, siendo realistas, no hay razón para tener dos rasgos distintivos (crestas y volante) pudiendo bastarse de uno. Pero tratando de buscarle una justificación, puedo suponer que las crestas sirven para la atracción sexual (en los machos serían más grandes), mientras que el volante (o alas en éste caso) servirían meramente para la confrontación (de la misma manera que los clamidosaurios y las cobras no extienden sus volantes para atraer una pareja, sino solo contra sus contrincantes o depredadores).
