I always though about my seventeen birthday, Always waiting for it since I was finally would be Kikyo's age before Diying. My birthday is tomorrow and i am so excited.

kikyo is my favourite character. i fell into the manga world because of her. She is more likly a literature figure rather than a manga character, i think.

Girl I can talk about Kiks for days, she's just so original. Rumiko is beast at making such amazing characters. Kikyo is a perfect example (: I don't get how people hate such a unique character. I think I can blame the anime a bit on that.

Rumiko herself said manga is for fun. There are objective reasons for kikyo's getting both blame and praise. I think the anime built a different character with the manga. But i love both. Kikyo got wrath and hate against the living world at the very beginning and soon turned to original and inherent benevolent as she always be. Such a straightforward conversion made her charming for ones who ever understand her, much better than being trapped by the same problem back and forth. Kikyo is the first one who get over the tragic past and the love-triangle, though she has chance to restore the relationship with inuyasha.
I have figured for many times if kikyo is a literature or movie character, she will be much more popular. But manga as a simple entertainment has its own rules: not much reflections, young audiences and many one-glance-at passers. That's why the leading characters always have warm bright personalities, to me a little boring.
Kikyo somewhat resembles a vampire with good will in the west.YES, She is unique in Rumiko's manga. And i think she is the only novel aspect in the whole inuyasha story.

I just adore your love for Kikyo, and how you truly understand her. Yea, sure she came back angry after her death. But honestly, who wouldn't if they faced the same situations as Kikyo? She's raw and real, and I look up to how she handled all the crap she endured like a boss and just faced it by looking to defeat Naraku in her own journey. How can people hate on that? I blame the whole love triangle scenario, people didn't look at her amazing character but her position in the whole love triangle. Especially the diehard InuKag fans, which is simple immature to me. I am a 100% InuKag fan, till the very end, I never had doubts in their relationship and I knew where each one in the love triangle stood, yet that does not mean I will bash one character though for my love of the other. Sure Kagome is my number one character but doesn't mean my dear Kikyo can't have my love as well (:
