Description The Amiga CD32 was Commodore's second attempt to enter the console market, after the dismal failure called the C64 Game System.

The internals were the same as the A1200. In fact, you could either attach the A570 CD-ROM Drive to an A1200, or attach a floppy disk drive, hard disk, keyboard and mouse to the CD32 and basically get the same result.

Its a nice bit of kit but you have to remember to remove it if you want to play CD32 games as it eats up some of the ram and stops some of the buttons on the controller from working.
Which is a pitty as it also gives you RGB output.

It's almost the same as an A1200, except for the Akiko chipset.

And I guess in time they learned how to shrink some of her down as well.

Very interesting full circle since the makers of the Amiga were really hoping to give birth to a game console from the very beginning.

I wonder if they're related to the same Analogic who makes parts for cellphones or whatever...

I don't know about that. I've been on their website and they're one of the few companies left that still sell original Amiga spare parts. Mostly mice, but you can get your own CD32 and disk drive from them if you want to.
