Description
On August 23rd the statue 'Den Lille Havfrue' - the little mermaid in Copenhagen turned 100, and it was in the Danish media all day. I thought I'd try and draw her - and then later coloured the drawing in Gimp. I think she looks pretty good for someone 100 years old. I love the fairy tale by H.C. Andersen and the Disney animation as well. The pose is not like the statue, but I began by looking at pictures of her and the inspiration to this piece is from that statue.
The original drawing was made in an A3 sketchbook.
