During the last summer, I was in a complicated time where I couldn't find the time or the energy to fly away with my pen and nib. I went on a long hiatus and quite frankly I don’t want to check for how long I didn’t made marks to look at year after. Simply put, that night I started to draw again in my little book, only using the fineliner. The setting wasn’t any pub, but a secluded place in our mountains, with a lot of beautiful girl dressed to kill: The Summer Business Party. I have mixed feelings about that night, I remember that I was tired but I wanted to draw no matters what, and it was my first “coming out” as The guy that draws. With the company of a group of girls in heels and long dresses we crossed the woods and reached the summer residence of the family that I work for, to spend the night with drinks, food and music. Now, if there’s a whole lot of pretty young girls in a flirty mood, how are you planning to spend the night? Exactly, there’s nothing more exciting than bringing candles to your table, I see that we can agree on that, right? And then what? And then we draw, of course. With both natural and then candlelight. I spent all the night sitting at a rock table and a lot of people passed by, looking at my book, at my other book, at my tools, at what I was drawing… but I simply was cool staying there, focused on my work. Little distraction here and there, soon to be turned in memories like the pregnant girl that sat next to me the whole time, stressed out and a little sad for once being The Girl of the party, my ex colleague, a male in heat, turned on and stressed out by that endless sea of beautiful women that decided to impress them with a weird mating dance, apparently not that effective… There was a woman working for her business, adding info and pictures of people on holiday at her rental houses and I started to notice the weird, criminal-like faces of her clients and I couldn’t help but point out how we could go and look the same ones on the Interpol database… There were a lot of small episodes, here and there, and that was a good and insipiring night. I finished the first one and started the second one, almost finishing it as well but it got really late in the night and I had work to do the following day. Now, as I went back through the woods giving a ride to a couple of girls, we saw my colleague completely drunk and covered with sweat starting to run in the pitch black moonless night. We started to follow him, trying to reach the parking lot and discouraging him to drive, but only at a distance, as the girls couldn’t walk that fast. After a lot of time I stopped them as I stated that we were following a drunk guy and got lost, jokes on us. After that realization we turned back shouting to him in the distance that the parking lot was behind us, and somehow convincing him to take some rest before driving, at least. I even offered to drive him home but there simply wasn’t any way to fix him. After that we got back down the mountain, driving with the company of the convoy at a really slow speed, luckily for the people tired by the night but unluckily for a car behind us, playing the car horn like it was a trumpet. After a long time we got back home and finally the guy could drive through the night for his nasty business. The day after I discovered that that car was my boss’, and he had to urgently go to the bathroom due to nature’s call.
