"She has your eyes sister" Luna sighed, placing a gentle hoof upon the new born's head.
Celestia just stared at the tiny child she held, taking in the pink coat and little horn.
"I... what am I going to do Luna? The kingdom would never allow it. I'd be an outcast, and you would be cast out with me. I'm so sorry.
Celestia sobbed, dropping tears upon her new Daughter's face. She was so scared.

"Perhaps, fate has smiled upon you after all" Luna soothed, "she is but a unicorn after all"
"What do you mean?"
"Sister, we could send her away for a while, until she is older. No one would suspect since she isn't an Alicorn. We could bring her back as our adopted niece".

As much as she hated the idea of sending her daughter away, Celestia couldn't argue with reason. She knew it would be best for all three of them if the child never knew the truth.

What if Cadance is Celestia's daughter? But she was born in a time when having children out of marriage was frowned upon. So they sent her away until she was a teen, when they 'adopted her' and turned her into an alicorn so she could rule beside them. But of course Cadance would never remember her mother and auntie.
