Description ENGLISH

Hi!

Digital inking takes me too much time so I´m trying to find more simple ways to ink my drawings with traditional materials. These drawings were made with 0.8 and 0.2 uni pin pens.
I won´t ink like this all the time but it´s good to know a way to finish my drawings when I´m in a hurry. Just like a "Plan B".
Hope you like this stuff!

Cheers!

I agree. Digital inking seems to take longer than traditional. Personally, I prefer being able to rotate my paper around without feeling restricted, and it just feels more natural doing it the ol' fashion way
Btw, Zangeif and Bats are my fave here!

Oh, so you rotate the paper too! The other artists I know don´t rotate it very much, I thought I was the only one to do it. Hehe!
I use a curve maker tool to trace the lines in digital inking so I don´t feel so restricted. But I get your point and I agree with you.
Thanks for your comment my friend! =]

Dude, I rotate anymore, my art will travel back in time! But for me, to not rotate really restricts me from getting the smooth stroked lines that I need, especially hair. I'm still hesitant to use digital, but I think at the same time, I'm comfortable with my traditional tools. Guess, it's my comfort zone. heh.
Thanks a bunch for writing back

Entretanto, minha mão é pesada pra esses materiais, então eu me viro como posso. hehehe!

Muita gente usa o Flash, vou experimentar.
Abraço! =]

It isn´t so difficult to find them, they´re very common. The complete name of the pen is "mitsubishi uni pin nankim pen". If you look for it in drawing stores you´ll certainly find. =]

BezerroBizarro In reply to duducaico [2010-08-07 03:12:06 +0000 UTC]

Personally, I like to use nib pens. Though, speed is not the reason for it. I use technical pens sometimes too... But mostly because I haven't figured out a way to use Copic markers and dipping ink without it smearing all over the place yet.
So, on the subject of the kind of pen you're using here.
Advantage: speed; clean, sturdy lines
Disadvantage: no line tapering; uh... no undo button in real life either.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BezerroBizarro In reply to evilfujiarmu [2010-07-05 20:00:26 +0000 UTC]

maybe the lack of an undo button is the worst disadvantage! XD
I´ll use this inking style sometimes when I´m in a hurry.

ErinHunting [2010-07-05 07:55:59 +0000 UTC]

Love these inks! I always use a Faber Castell Pitt bush pen which you can easily blend thicker lines with thinner.

I´ve searched about this pens on internet and they seem to be exactly what I need! =] The prices i´ve seen in online stores are very high, but I´ll try to find them in drawing stores here in my city.

I've been using them for years & never use anything else much now, apart from some fineliners for tinier details. I think they sell for about $6 Australian dollars.
Good Luck!

I always felt digital inking was a travesty. Leaves nothing for the collector types (like me) to collect!

BezerroBizarro In reply to dragonaur [2010-07-05 20:04:30 +0000 UTC]

hehe! It´s a good point!
But there are still the pencil drawings and sketches, which are collectable.
