Description
A simple acrylic painting I did as a wedding present for my boss and his new Hungarian wife.Story behind this is that he always got up early to text her and she'd always stay up late to text him (lived on opposite sides of the planet) so she'd call him "morning rooster" and he called her "night owl".
They got married near the end of July this year and they both really enjoyed my painting! Yay!
Painted on a 16"x20" pre-made canvas, inspired by ~JarrrodElvin 's "Two Cute Owls" image: jarrrodelvin.deviantart.com/ar⦠Took about 2 weeks painting it, on and off.
As usual, it looks better in real life, my photography sucks.

i hate that when you take a photo of your art and it does not come out right and cuts out a lot of the details, and the colors are all different DX.Β

Haha, I know, right? The projects at this new house eat up a lot of my time and money, but we're slowly running out of money, so ... ahaha, I can take a break and draw again.
I'd like to make custom shelves in our house, but I'd like to get a bandsaw first. *n* That way, my shelving can be as decorative or as wacky as my choosing. Costs about $574 bucks. I've got ways to save. -and until then, my room wont be very pretty...
Anyway, it's nice to hear from you again too.

actually it's going very well with the stories. Anna and i have a plan to finish the revamps by year's end and i also hope to have a chapter or two finished by november. Still up for being a proofreader? Honestly i really want to hurry up and get things rolling so you can get in on this. once we have things set up we can form a kickstarter to get some production money in for book production and to pay you for advertising artworks as well as the novel illustrations.Β

Well, I'd like to read what I'm getting myself into, so yeah, I'd like to read it... unless it's SUPER long. Do you have a timeline or something that gives me enough information for the basics of the story?
When you say novel illustrations, are you planning for a graphic novel or just a regular novel with a few images in it here and there?

I can certainly give you a concise timeline of events if you'd like that. Actually i was planning a mix of both....a graphic novel usually has comic format pages of illustrations in them...in this case what i want to try instead is full page illustrations for major moments in the story...it would definitely be a little more than a here and there amount but I'm also not looking to give incredibly detailed illustrations every single time. Sometimes all that is needed is a simple background and a few characters. for very very important moments however we'd definitely want something much more eye catching. In any case i'll give you a timeline breakdown within the next couple of days. It wont be incredibly detailed but will give you an idea of where we're starting and where we're going with things.

You know what? I was totally thinking of doing the same thing once upon a time... I tried to explain the idea to my sis, but it never settled with her, so I sort of forgotten about it... I do hope it works out with this project though! It would certainly be a time saver!

That's actually really sweet, and I really love your painting. The owl in particular is my favorite. It's downright adorable XD It's got a tiiiinny little beak, but these HUGE eyes D: Haha XD

Haha, owls are currently taking over everything though, where I work. There's owl pendents, owl home decor, owl stickers....owls everywhere. It's weird. It's that and Hello Kitty. The Hello Kitty one scares me. There's so much pink D:
