A large watercolor commission for of her two OC's Fayne and Tannis. She wanted the image to look similar to the old Castlevania images. Hope it sort of looks that way!Thanks for the commission assignment! It was fun!

Before I read the description I thought to myself that this one looks Castlevania-ish. I liked the bats the most in this one for some reason. They caught my eye.

This is lovely. It has excellent composition, with a strong balance of a large amount of disparate elements, which I know from painful experience can be very difficult to pull off, and the character poses and their design and colour are beautiful.
As to the Castlevania homage, I think you nailed it. The male character (sorry don't want to cause offence by going with the 'manliest' name and being wrong!) has a look strongly reminiscent of the way the series has historically rendered Dracula, which instantly gave me some connectivity to it, and the overall 17-1800s vibe of the outfits and weaponry solidifies that. Plus giant castle silhouetted by moon = Castlevania to boot
