W.I.Ping out art Wednesday.
Sketch of Luis's character Tiffy the Bubble Butt Bunny. This is just an example of random shit I draw when business is slow and to keep from falling asleep at cons I attended lately.Speaking of cons I'm really considering taking next year off.Creatively I feel I'm starting to stagnate.
Sales have also started to slow down and stagnate as well. Con Fandoms have shifted dramatically in just a years time. Usually it would take at least 2 or 3 yrs for fandom to shift and embrace the next big thing. This year its...

and anything chibi, cartoony, or cutesy.
Girls don't mind dressing up like Suicide Squad street walker Harley Quinn but only will buy fan art of her if she is drawn in a cutesy style.I draw sexy bad ass fan art.Not cutesy fan art. I've adapted enough in terms of making my artwork a little bit more universally appealing.Sadly the majority of the people that attend cons we table at are into fandoms I am not into or particularly fond of enough to draw.
I did do My Little Pony fan art.But it only sold well for like a year. I even did some League of Legends fan art.The only print that sells is Jinx. Overall when I look at our print stock most don't sell consistently or even at all. With the 30+ prints we have in stock only 8 or 9 sale consistently. The rest only get sold via Bewbtube.
So those #originalart supporters have to realize that its not easy even for us fan artists to sale, make money, and compete among other fan artists. That's why I tell people the the art game is highly competitive.
So should I take a break from cons and just produce work for my Patreon and do commissions?Or should I just swallow what little pride I have and just confirm to today's fandoms?
Going to cons cost money. And if I don't make money there is really no point for me going at this stage of my early art career.
