Description Gyroro and Nuii insisted on going outside right after dinner. Hanana found herself following them with instructions to keep them out of trouble. She wasn't sure what kind of trouble they meant exactly, but she was sure that her task was difficult.
Nuii started to roll a tiny ball of snow around. She let the snow gather on it until it was getting hard for her to push. Gyroro gave her a hand and they let it stop near the middle of the tiny space behind the house that might have been a garden.
"What are you making?" Hanana asked.
"A snowman!" Nuii said.
Hanana laughed loudly, then covered her mouth with her hands. She had an idea. "I'll help you," she said. "Wait right here." She slipped inside. When she returned, she was holding a carrot and coal.
Gyroro looked at the things in her hands and said, "We need something to make the arms out of."
"There's a tree over there," Hanana pointed out. "DON'T snap a branch off the tree. See if you can find any fallen ones."
"It's just a tree," Gyroro muttered, but he didn't break any twigs off.
Nuii looked extremely proud of the snowman she'd just constructed. She grabbed Gyroro's arm and leaned against him. Hanana swept the extra snow off of her hands and breathed on them.
"We need to show Yukiki!" Nuii said suddenly. "Come on!" She pulled Gyroro with her into the house and returned moments later with Yukiki in tow.
"What…?" Yukiki said, staring at the freshly made snowman.
"The resemblance is uncanny isn't it?" Hanana asked jokingly.
"No it isn't," Yukiki said, folding his arms.
"Oh come on, it looks just like you."
Yukiki shook his head. "He's missing a hat," he said.
"Easily fixed," Gyroro said and looked at Hanana. Hanana took the hint and snatched Yukiki's top hat off his head.
Before Yukiki could snatch it back, she placed on the snowman's head. "You're right," she said. "It looks better this way."
"Ha ha," Yukiki said mirthlessly. "Comedic genius." He looked down at Gyroro and Nuii, who were laughing.  He retrieved his hat and replaced it on his head. "Go use something else for a hat."
Hanana looked around. There wasn't anything else outside except for an old bucket. She turned it over and set it on the snowman's head. It looked even sillier like that and had Nuii and Gyroro rolling. Yukiki's frown pulled even further downward, but there was a hint of suppressed laughter in his eyes.
"Come back inside," Putata said, appearing in the doorway. He looked from the snowman to Yukiki. "I'm seeing double. How do we know which one is the real one?" He squinted and looked from Yukiki to the snowman in the bucket hat and back again.
"You all are having quite a laugh at my expense I must say," Yukiki said. "At least you're enjoying yourselves." He brushed past Putata and went inside.
"I hope we didn't upset him too much," Hanana said, feeling a little bad for laughing at him. As she went inside, she asked, "So why do we have to come back inside?"
"Important meeting," Putata explained.  "After all, we've got a job tomorrow."
Hanana's heart dropped through her stomach. She'd forgotten what the corps was for a moment. When she remembered it made it that much worse. She wished she could just get over her anxieties about their work, seeing as it was her work now by extension.
Her legs managed to work and got herself into a chair at the table.  Hanana drummed her fingers on the table, caught herself doing it and pinned her hand under her knee.
"So we're going to sneak onto the airship and attack them…how?" Giruru said. "I might find a way to get into it through the pipes, but how will the rest of you get on it?"
"Well obviously while it's still on the ground," Kagege said.
"Oh, obviously." Giruru held his hands up. "Grace us with your intelligence."
Kagege made a small noise of annoyance. "We could get into the lower engine and machine rooms while it's still grounded and move up through it. Then we could get to the targets and get them isolated. There won't be any guards. They think they're safe up there."
Hanana's foot bobbed up and down under the table. She was able to deal with the first meeting, but this seemed so dark in comparison with the light hearted time outside. It was starting to make her a little sick. Now that they were discussing it and that tomorrow was the day it would happen, it made it feel so much more real.
Unable to really take it anymore, she stood up.
"Where are you going?" Mekeke asked.
"Feeling a little…ill. It happens every winter. Don't worry. I'm just going to lie down."
"Are you sure you can't stay and hear the rest of this. It's pretty important that you know it," Kagege pointed out.
Hanana shook her head and put a hand to her head. "You can tell me the rest later. Excuse me." She took that opportunity to leave and sit down in the sitting room.  "I'm such a coward," she whispered to herself.
Yukiki walked in. He looked concerned, but also suspicious. "Are you feeling alright?"
"It's just a little cold," Hanana said. "It'll pass."
Yukiki put a gloved hand to her forehead. She wondered how he could feel through the fabric. Instinctively, she twitched backwards.
"There isn't a fever," she said quickly.
Yukiki looked disappointed for a brief moment, but it was gone before Hanana could fully register it. He withdrew his hand. He looked sideways guiltily. "Sorry," he muttered.
Hanana wondered briefly if she did have an unconscious fear of him. Was she really worried that just him touching her would hurt her? She would feel a little more reassured if he didn't occasionally seem afraid to touch her.
She grabbed his hand and pressed it to her forehead. "It doesn't hurt to check."
"You're fine," Yukiki said, brushing her bangs away from her eyes.
Hanana wanted him to leave his hand there, but she couldn't say it. He straightened and granted her a brief smile before going back to the meeting. Hanana's heart squeezed. It was possible that she was falling in love with him. The worst part was that it was impossible for anything to come of it, seeing as Yukiki was convinced he couldn't love anyone.

Mekeke and Putata? Oh yeah. They share a wavelength. However, since Putata's hat normally has metal on it, it blocks about 20% of Mekeke's thoughts.
