Also WHY DO I KEEP DRAWING WAY TOO MANY GRYPHS INTO MY CHALLENGES? D8 I guess my muse found Challenge#3 too much fun not to do more like that.

Challenge #5 for !
Prompt: You are attending a midnight festival in Twistoult to honor the goddess Mordachae. Even though you may not believe in any of it, the Queen has instructed you and your fellows to make nice as a way of improving relations. Show yourself participating in a ritual, or looking down at the superstitious Twistoult ninnies.

My response: Daine, along with Reva and a few other Grandesques, are very willing to join in with the festivities. Daine even brings along a very nicely carved stone to sacrifice to the moon goddess.

Daine was excited-the Queen had ordered them to go to Twistoult to join in a ritual for Mordachae, the moon goddess. Daine couldn't wait to go back again to the forested aerie-after all who knew how many more treasures she could find to make into jewelry! Also it gave her a challenge- what should she give to the goddess as a respectful gift. After sorting through her piles of rocks, she found one that was perfect-it was called Moonstone! She used some of her tools as well as her claws to carve out symbols of the waxing, full, and waning moon. She finished in the nick of time- right before a small owlgryph appeared in front of the door asking if she was coming. As the two flew along, they got to know each other-the young one's name was Reva. She was quite a sweet, friendly little thing that after a little prodding did a little show of her ventriloquism, which Daine fully enjoyed.

Once they got there though, they settled into a more subdued mood as the ritual was about to begin. They watched the dancing with awe, and when it was time for the offerings, Daine shyly came forward to place her carving on the alter in front of Tulkiina herself. She ruffled her feathers embarrassedly as the queen whispered that she liked the new tail bracelet that Daine had made for her.

She was glad she went, and she suspected the bay owl gryph loved it even more than she did. Sure, some of the other Grandesques were rude, and Daine had to hiss at them, reminding them on their queen's instruction on how to behave at this holy ceremony, but in all it was a great time.
