Description The coloured version, finally. HAHAHAHA *ruined hands* - do you guys have any idea how awful it is to colour with fibro and hypermobility? It blows! But at least this is done!

Please, enjoy!

B xxx

Original Lineart:

I play on BL2 on Xbox 360 (same gamertag as my profile) and just got it for the pc on summer steam sale! My steam name is (currently) Depravity (I have the Shizuo Heiwajima avatar - cause he's awesome)
I prefer Gaige or Axton, but I'm currently attempting a Krieg run on the pc. I don't know why I got the damn thing on PC, I must have gone temporarily insane. *crippled hands* XD if only I could faceroll my way to victory!!!! (and stop pressing my F key accidentally...)

EDIT: BLURP, I UPLOADED THE WRONG PICTURE, I AM STUPID.

Oddly enough, these two make an excellent team in game. The Siren can do her Siren stuff, the Psycho can protect her and act as a meat shield, and they can both instant revive each other ^_^

Meat shield is right, there's something about being in the face of enemies that makes Kreig so much fun to play (as well as seat grippingly terrifying)!

Kinda the opposite of the other Vault Hunters: Taking damage only makes him stronger but I wonder what would happen if Maya shot Krieg to heal him. Would it just cancel out?

I do! If Krieg has his Friendly Fire skill on and Maya can heal people via shooting them, then her skill takes precedence. I paired up with my friend playing a Heal-bot Maya and I was able to level up Krieg's friendly fire all the way because it was nothing but action skill recharge with her around...

...now...the moment another buddy of mine showed up who thought it was funny he could hurt me with seemingly no gain on my part showed up, I got a bit...irate. After one particularly frustrating team-kill, Krieg introduced a five level higher Death-trap and Gaige to the business end of his buzz-axe. Gaige went down in one hit. Death-trap took three.

...He stopped shooting me after that. Maya told that guy what would happen!

Unless they patched it otherwise, Krieg's skill says he can be shot by allies but Maya's says her shots heal rather than hurt so they don't really conflict with one another.

Oh hell yes. Been playing the hell out of BL2 with my brother. On the second playthrough, and already close to being too high level for the "true vault hunter mode" main story. Krieg has got to be my favorite character to play so far. I'm Krieg, he's Gaiga.. seemed like an interesting matchup: the psycho with a voice of reason talking in his head, and the teenage girl who ran away from legal action for an accidental murder by running to the lawless areas.

Has been working out well so far. Bit slow to start (if only because my brother keeps trying to play as if he's going solo, not taking into account that I'm in combat, and grabbing all the ammo) but once Krieg got his first top tier.. my god is he a crazy awesome character to play.

Teammate down, revive with Redeem The Soul, go into Light The Fuse, teammate gets me back up, health now low enough to become badass psycho, wreck the enemies shit, still more powerful enemies to go, health goes down easy, badass psycho, it ends, lose health too fast, Light The Fuse, score a kill, badass psycho.. still having some trouble from time to time, mostly with my brother. He's trying, but now he has taken a liking to making Gaige run right into combat (because he sees me doing it,) blocking me since teammates absorb shots, and putting a character designed to hang back and let her action-skill bot do the work in the middle of combat.. he also really, really likes grenades, and MIRV grenades particular, which is disorienting as hell for a class meant to run right into combat. I basically can't afford to get one of the other really good skills because it turns on friendly fire for Krieg.. which would be good if not for the near-constant spray of MIRV grenades.

Here's something: Badass Psycho top-tier Mania skill, combined with Silence The Voices (next to top-tier Mania skill.) At that point you get such a crazy melee bonus that you can wreck bosses your level in two or three hits.. and by the time you're that high level, his action skill and abilities.. well.. you saw that last part; it gets insane how that character plays once you start getting around level 40. Also; if you take that route with Krieg, I would also recommend maxing out Feed The Meat. You'll want him to have the highest health possible so you have plenty of time between health low enough to become a badass, and to activate the action skill.

Sorry for ranting.. like I said, I've been playing the hell out of that game, and Krieg has become my favorite. Gaige can be fun, especially at higher levels and with certain skills, but I think I found my favorite by far.. though I will say Light The Fuse can be annoying. Those dynamite sticks just don't pack much punch compared to your standard guns, but I've been trying to get all the grenade/explosive damage bonuses I can in the hopes that it'll continue becoming more effective as the game goes on.

Bhryn In reply to purpletrauma [2013-11-17 11:15:05 +0000 UTC]

HEY no, don't apologise, I love BL2 (I'm trying to run through it on the PC now I have a better graphics card) and Gaige is still my favourite. I'm hoping to get one of my friends to play more often on it so I can try out Kreig better, because it feels like he was made to be a team player, rather than some classes that scream 'i can solo this shit' (ie Gaige for definite). The explosive clap ability that Deathtrap gets along with strength of five gorillas is badass.

This is the build I tend to use: (and this is an UTVM build)

BFF:

Close enough 5/5
Cooking Up Trouble 5/5

Upshot Robot 1/1
Unstoppable Force 5/5

Explsove Clap 1/1
Made of Sterner Stuff 5/5

20% Cooler 5/5

Sharing is Caring 1/1

Little Big Trouble:

Myelin 5/5

The Stare 1/1
Strength of Five Gorillas 5/5

Shock and Aaaaaargh! 5/5

Ordered Chaos:

Anarchy 1/1
Smaller Lighter FasterΒ  4/4

Preshrunk Cyberpunk 4/5
Robot Rampage 1/1

Discord 1/1
Typecast Iconoclast 4/5

Rational Anarchist 1/1

A few important things to note: I don't consider this a solid build, as in you don't change anything. You can do. Change stuff up, especially when you get your hands on mods for your class, because you'll need to shift stuff around (although I once had a mod that gave me +4 to my gorilla skill, huff huff wheeze, glee!). But the point of this build is to make Deathtrap your number one priority and send him off to kill anything with a pulse. The secondary objective is Anarchy. You need Close Enough because it has a 50% chance to riccochet your shit shooting when anarchy stacks. The damage might only be at 50%, but with Preshrunk Cyberpunk, your stacks will end up at 350. At 350 a single shot out of your gun is going to obliterate anything it manages to hit. At half damage of a 350 stack, you're still doing CRAZY ass amounts of damage. Whilst Deathtrap is raging about murdering everything.

You make your magazine smaller, because then you can gain anarchy faster. You take Cooking Up Trouble because a smaller magazine means it's full faster, which means quicker health regeneration. Your health should nearly always be regenerating. Unstoppable Force makes you faster and recharges your shield really fast, alongside Myelin which shields you from more damage. You also take Shock and Aaaargh because your magazine reloads with a smaller size = LOTS of shocking explosions, whee!

You should take guns like shotguns, smgs and rifles. Get in their face to maximise in your talents. Keeping Deathtrap up is easy with a far quicker cooldown on him, and his own ability to support himself with 'Upshot robot'.

Gaige is a solo killing machine. And I fucking love it.

purpletrauma In reply to Bhryn [2013-11-17 13:30:45 +0000 UTC]

Awesome. I'll have to try that. I generally try to focus on a single skill tree, until I can get one top-tier.. they're based around a single strategy and gameplay style each tree, so it's the closest to min/maxing you can do.. on that note, I haven't played any character enough to max a second one yet, which is probably why I felt compelled to mention that.

Also, yeah, especially if you strategize and actually work together, Krieg really is a multiplayer class. With skills like "Redeem the Soul" where you can insta-regen a partner, or "Fuel the Rampage" which adds serious cooldown to your action skill, but at the cost of friendly fire.. although if you have a top-tier mania tree, and can become a badass psycho with low enough health, it's to your advantage (as long as you don't have a grenade-happy partner.) Though to be fair, once I passed level 40 with all my health boosts and health boost shield, I basically ran up to a powerful enemy, waited until my health was low, then became a badass. Not once did that tactic not work out for me. He gets down a lot at first, but at the top tier you WANT your health to be low, and health-boosting shields are the shit. Which is funny, because I wouldn't be caught dead with a shield like that on any other character.

Key skills for my strategy: Feed the Meat, since you want the highest health possible. Redeem the Soul is great if you already got Light the Fuse; able to bring up partners instantly, and remain mobile upon going into your death throws. Though the damage can be a bit lacking compared to Fight For Your Life, unless you start getting skills that boost grenades/explosive which make it work a bit better. Silence the voices makes you hit yourself, but the melee bonuses are so insane (50% per point) that it more than makes up for the occasional time where you accidentally send yourself into Light the Fuse.

Then, of course, top tier Mania, Release the Beast, if you're under 1/3rd health you become a badass psycho with another big melee bonus, 50% damage reduction, instantly healed, and your action skill is fully charged once it's over. As I mentioned in my previous comment, between my health boosts and other skills, I was going into badass mode constantly when faced with a tough fight. Health disappeared outside of badass mode, but not so fast that I couldn't re-activated it since the action skill was auto-filled when the skill ended.

.. then, when revived from light-the-fuse, your health is automatically low enough to go into that mode.. so yeah, that's what I've been focusing on. Boosting health and melee bonuses, since Mania focuses on health/melee/support. From there I'm still undecided on which of the other trees to focus on.. Hellborn would have the crazier abilities that could make me even further unstoppable when combined with Mania abilities/bonuses, but Bloodlust would complement your ability in basic combat and your action skill in a more constant passive way.

So yeah, at least until I have my first top-tier, I try to focus on a single skill tree, judging what I want based on the general strategy/focus of each tree. From there, well.. Due to focusing on the playthrough with my brother, and us starting the game with new characters to change our class (Assassin is shit with a partner, and my brothers love of grenades and spraying bullets everywhere making enemies even more jumpy made it a damn pain) has kept me from getting to UTVM yet.. though we aren't too far, probably. We're playing DLC on TVHM so by the time we get back to the main mission we'll probably be over the TVHM cap of 50 and can breeze through the whole main mission to the final playthrough mode.

.. and as previously stated.. Krieg has become my favorite. He was a pain for the first 10 levels, was evening out as I got higher tier skills, but once you reach the end of the first playthrough.. it's the most crazy and devastating character out there.

Krieg works well with Gaige; her bot is good for getting lots of attention and dealing with a lot of common enemies, and Krieg deals insane damage and good for thrashing powerful enemies to nothing.

We've dueled a couple times, and.. wow.. with both characters around level 40, I quickly got low health due to Deathtraps' clap, went into badass psycho mode, destroyed Deathtrap in two hits, and him in one.

UTVM is no joke, so I sincerely wish you well. Because daaaaaamn, that mode made me realise I NEED people to play with. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Yeesh.

I'll have to definitely try it then and push my friend into being gaige.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

purpletrauma In reply to Bhryn [2013-11-18 05:53:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah; you'll have to think of combination strategies.

I learned that with me and my brothers first two characters: I was an assassin, he was the Siren.

Pain in the damn ass, and our abilities just didn't mesh well.. not to mention he keeps playing like it's solo, and we have an uncanny tendency to target the same enemies, so as I try to snipe, they dodge his gunfire. So if you really want to do well, you'll have to think of how the characters play, and how certain tactics would work.

If one person is Krieg, the other person needs to either have strong support abilities, or otherwise hang back and not get too into the middle of combat.

So.. basically not the Gunzerker, but any of the others could be made to work, as long as the right skill tree is chosen.

My husband and I play as Krieg and Maya...he started out as Axton and hated it, then bought Krieg, instant love.Β  I went the healing route, he doesn't need me to keep him alive but when we run out of things to kill I can get him up instantly if needed.Β  The best advice I can give is if you get a partner make sure they know when to back off and just let Krieg do his thing.Β  A big problem we had playing with a full group was him getting unintentially kill stealed by our companions or an insane mancer bot.Β  It is an odd form of finesse required for him depending on build.
